Audi A3 8V 2016 Pfl to facelift highline camera coding

Hi, I'm looking for some coding assistance, I retrofitted highline genuine audi rear camera,
wired in as per previous threads, live, earth,
Black wire FBAS to pin 12 blue connector on mmi
Clear wire FBAS to pin 6 blue connector on mmi
Splicing into can bus high & low grey connector on mmi.
Followed coding as best as possible 5f module bap-vps 0x0b activated
bap-vps 0x0b msg terminal 15.
10 park/steer camera activation.
Tried reseting mmi unit, still no camera action.
I must be missing something?

you miss Basic Settings which means the camera has to be calibrated, and, no, VCDS cannot do it.
or it actually could, but you still need the black and white pattern board and most of all need to know where to place it, relative to the car.

Officially, calibration of the camera needs VAS 6350 and the process is explained here. But apparently it has been successfully attempted with VCDS as explained here (I've not done this)

Yes, of course the display needs to be active for calibration to work. Clearly the CAN network is OK with the hex6C installation (because it talks to the bus) - but I suspect (guess really) there may be a lingering question regarding how your hex5F module talks to the CAN network.

I note that the Component Protection master module has recorded a CP error and that in performing its other role as the diagnostics master, the hex19 module has been unable to communicate with the MIB. Just joining dots, but this suggests that perhaps the MIB has been retrofitted with a unit that has been hacked to deal with CP.

If this is correct, it's anyone's guess how the hack affects other hex5F functions

Hi, yes the mib2 was hacked, I believe the cp will always linger as a fault code,
But I'm assuming the mib is still programmable/adaptable.
Has anyone else have a hacked mib2 and added factory back up camera?

yes i have retrofited mib2.5 hacked and also high camera to passat 8.5, no issues at all
i would double check video cable from camera to mib also check maybe you swapped signal wires and ground on mib connector blue one pin 6 and 12

no problem, glad you got it sorted, it depends on wiring harness sometimes they swap wires, there is no harm try to swap them and test to see if you have picture

you have coded camera for automatic dsg gearbox and its not receiving reverse signal, code it for manual gearbox.
