2018 Audi A3: Turn Off Parking Brake Engage When Door Open

I saw this tweak for a different Audi, but doesn't work for the '18 A3. Basically when I'm parking I like to look at the curb and my rear tire sometimes to make sure it doesn't hit as I roll slowly into the spot...or backing up and the collision avoidance doesn't see the low curb. The A3 immediately engages the parking brake which is super-annoying. How to turn that off?

Also, I assume this one is impossible as it involves CarPlay, but is there a way to have the map button bring up Waze instead of the non-installed Audi navigation?

You mean changing this adaption channel requires a login code? Because I‘m not sure if there is any such thing as requiring a login code upon entering a control module.

However you can try the following: 40168, 20103, 24990, 37202, 31857, 28183, 44595, 24435, 15081, 18573, 10505, 11966 (some might not even be accepted).

When trying multiple Security Access codes, check this Measuring Value after each one:

IDE00323 -- Security Access: Number of invalid keys

If it goes too high, no Security Access will be accepted, not even a valid one. What's too high? 3 definitely is, but in some cases it can be lower. The only way to get it to decrease is to wait -- with the ignition on. A good battery charger is helpful.

You know what else is super-irritating, is that if you sit with your foot on the brake for more than like 1 minute (stopped traffic or train) you have to put the car in park before it will let you move again. No idea who came up with this stuff. There is a button to disengage it, but if you use it then the engine doesn't cut out when stopped to save gas.

OK, so I got "Security Access Required", so I went back to the Security Access menu option. Entered the first code you provided. It said "ACCEPTED". Went back in to change the code and it said Security Access Required again. Does that mean the code didn't work, or something else?

IIRC some modules have more than 1 security code, each if which enable different additional changes to be made.

What? You mean the autohold does not disengage? This must be a fault, it cannot work like this as this would be a clear safety risk in traffic. If this is really intentional feature, then this was designed by a complete moron.

It seems to have a timer. I've only had it happen when stopped for trains or stopped motionless in heavy traffic. When you push the accelerator nothing happens. You have to restart the car. I'm assuming they have added this because people have left the car "running" by mistake, so they have it stop itself after some number of motionless minutes.

That happens if the car stops the engine and you put the gear to park, then it requires you to restart the car manually. But I've stood in a traffic lights for some minutes and I've never had to restart the car manually. BUT, I have manual handbrake and no keyless system.

I know that keyless system behaves a little bit differently, but I've not had to start that manually either unless I put the gear to park in between. Manual gearbox might be different, that I do not know but who drives a manual nowadays anymore anyway
