The TCU isn't complaining that it's incorrectly coded. What's the history here?

Is it possible? Good question. I have a sneaking suspicion that this one of those modules that lies about its coding length. I believe that's resolved in Beta 16.3, but it's also not clear just how much coding info is currently available.

hi mate the cars mine george kindly posted up for me

basically i fitted a rs3 gearbox and the car thinks its in drive so wont start but im not sure if this is the immobiliser or the fact the tcu isnt coded,the dq250 code is 0014 and the rs3 0018 i tried to change but theres no security access so doesnt allow

i also manually moved the gearstick to drive neutral and reverse just to check if anything changed and it doesnt

the car just asks you to remove the car from drive to start

i no its not your everyday problem but any help is appreciated

There does seem to be a few fault priorities listed, 1 and 2 seem to recommend immediate action, I wonder after entering the correct security data and coding the transmission will these priorities still allow the car to continue to run or just recommend action should be taken?

ive bought aan rs3 shifter to plug in to see if the park/neutral fault changes as maybe the gearbox cant read the mk7 shifter 🤔 im going to try and fit that saturday

i do think there are a few things that are causing the problem but its hard to no where to start because one of the options is to remove the immobiliser which is very costly.....i cant afford to do this if its not the ishue tbh

worth pointing out that i also fitted a second dq250 with a different mechatronics and the car started up ....so its a bit confusing as i also fitted a 2013 rs3 dq500 but that has a different canbus and sent the electrics crazy

im ashuming there are no trans faults atm because it isnt reading the trans module atall?

No faults because everything is working. The starting of car is decided by engine ECU.
