Comfort module 46 - Long coding helper almost empty?

I have a 2012 Passat and my module coding helper displays very little helpful information. Here is the module:

None of these bytes is "empty" so I am wondering how come there is no useful information for us to be able to decode the programmed features?

It is not realistic to expect every bit of every byte in current model cars to be fully documented. The info simply isn't available, not even in the dealers' tools.

Is there something in particular you are trying to accomplish and can't?

Thanks Uwe, i am trying to add the electric power trunk closing, already have all the hardware, need to find the bit to change to enable. so far i haven't found anything...

I fixed your location so people don't think this is a US (NMS) Passat -- those are rather different than RDW Passats.

Your new coding incl. Virtual Pedal (ViP) should be 0091020052C30E76340C94157E004F0B605801030437B8. Please note, not all Comfort Control Modules (CCM) may support this option! A properly coded ViP Control Module will show as a new LIN Slave / Subsystem. If it keeps saying "ViP not mounted" and you're certain you did the hardware right, it's most likely your CCM which doesn't contain the necessary Dataset/Firmware.

FWIW, I have enhancing the related label file on my todo-list.

Sebastian, i am guessing by virtual pedal you are referring to the two sensors in the bumper for hands free opening. please note this is NOT required for power trunk, it has a separate PR number, 4E7 is the power trunk, 4E6 is the sensor controlled power trunk. i am not looking to install the sensor pair only the actuators and electric latch mechanism. does this info change the coding in 46?

Sorry, I got confused. You're correct, Easy Open aka. Virtual Pedal (ViP) and Electric Rear Lid isn't the same. Please post the complete Auto-Scan and revert your #46 Coding back to the original, we should be able to provide the proper Coding then. There's only a minor change necessary the CCM coding if I remember correctly, but we need to see the full picture/Auto-Scan to be certain.

Just received a document from a friend of mine, stating 46 - Byte 2, Bit 3 has to be set to 1 to enable PR 4E7. Would you be able to confirm? Long coding helper does not show any information for this bit.

Correct, that would have been my suggestion as well. This isn't explicitly related to the electric rear lid, it's about how the lock is actuated (directly vs. soft touch).

Great news, appreciate the help. My last question regarding this - although it might be outside of VCDS realm - is whether tapping into CAN high and CAN low connections are mandatory for this retrofit to work? As per the factory wiring diagrams the right actuator is hooked up to the J519 CAN l / CAN h ports. Any insight would be more than helpful here
