Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low-Tested Injectors

Hello all. I having P0087 code fuel rail pressure too low. I had injectors tested and resulted in one of the injectors has high return. Does this maybe explain the issue? if so, how? I would think if injector has high return, then it would mean i would have high fuel pressure, not low? Maybe i'm not thnking it right? Also, is there a way to see this high return with VCDS ? LIKE TESTING INJECTORS WITH vcds? Thanks

Has specified high pressure and actual..will this help? Also, have been having DPF regen frequency fault as well. Not sure if this is related.

Yes it does.... think about it.... your pump pressurizes the rail to X amount. (well, in your case, attempts to.... because based on scan data, it can't do it)

The injectors draw from said pressure when injecting, and also "bleed off" so much via their "return flow".
So now that one of them is "bleeding off" way more than normal, that means your rail pressure is "dropping" a lot more than it should... because there's a "bigger hole" in the system.
The injector's return doesn't flow back into the rail... so why would the fuel amount escaping through the return increase your rail pressure?

I'm not sure I follow what you are asking, but if we are to have theoretical discussions, it's possible that when you were "first driving", you were not asking for sufficient engine output, so as such, the HPFP would be able to keep up with the requested rail pressure (even with a giant hole in your system - aka leaky injector)..... but once you demanded more output, then the simple firing of the injectors was consuming (read draining) much more rail pressure, so now that giant leak was more of an issue and resulted in the HPFP not being able to supply enough flow\pressure to maintain the requested rail pressure for the operating conditions.

Thanks, and it make sense your explanations and visuals. I guess my question is that when i first drove it at the beginning of the day, I could actually step on the gas, and pretty hard (demanding lots of pressure) . Car would respond as it should. After maybe 6-10 miles, at regular operating engine temp, is when i would get the fault and symptoms. Right before the fault (glowing plug and loss of power-limp mode) i would hear this whirring sound coming from engine bay. Maybe, there is a valve in the injector that after it reaches certain temp, it begins to fail, and why it does not fail right away? Thanka again for detailed explanations. I do have a new innjector on order and will replace. Hoping this is the issue and fix. If this is fixed, next step is to look into DPF-Regen Frequency issue; maybe i'm lucky and this is related and will fix that too .

Your soot load is too much right now.... normal regen starts at 18.9g and you're over....
