Dash lights say "put car in park" but it is in park and only chatters.

Turns out both the battery and starter were bad.
On a V-10 engine with two ecu (s) and one being primary and other slave, can I replace one/both ECU (s) and re-adapt one/both replacements using VCDS previously saved scan data? I’m told that the FOB (s) will need to be readapted/ learned as well. Suggestions or comments?

Back in the mid oughts, I really wanted to put a V10 TDI in the back of an Mk.1 Golf ("Rabbit" in the USA), driving the rear wheels. I think it would have made an interesting car to take to the drag strip. Leave the "Rabbit Diesel" badging on it, of course...

LOL... I'm sure you didn't really "think" about it for longer than 2 seconds at the time.... the v10 + tranny would result in your "back of an Mk1" being under its hood even if you were to "delete" the TC and have some sort of a direct drive system.... or maybe you could transversely mount it and still use a FWD tranny, but on the rear axle ;)

The traditional way to do this sort of thing is to use a Porsche RWD transaxle.
