Hi everyone,
I've been a long-time lurker and received so much help over the years. It's my turn to ask for some help.
I replaced my bumper with a GTI-style bumper that came with fog lights. I also bought a BCM from a 2012 GTI and installed it into the car to enable the fogs (my original did not have provisions for fog lights). The original BCM to the car is a 5K0 937 084 L unit. While the new one is a 1K0 937 087 L unit. As advised, I copied over the long coding from the old one and coded it into the new unit. The front lights work as they're supposed to (turn signal, high, low, fogs all work fine). But for some reason the reverse lights now act as the DRL in the rear when the light switch in the 0 position. The cluster shows errors for brake lights, reverse lights, and license plate lights (even though brake lights and license plates work as designed). My biggest pain point is that the key remote stopped working (the car does not have KESSY). When I first plugged in the module, bit 18 showed VW EOS NAR version. So I followed the steps to change it to 00, and then to Jetta Sportwagen ROW thinking that it would solve my issues. But the errors still remain.
