Greetings,
Purchased an RCD330 unit from China in addition to the steering wheel control adaptor. Performed the install and everything worked great but I noticed a battery drain issue. I ordered a new Gateway ( 7N0 907 530AJ ) from China (Lemon Shark) to try and solve the battery drain issue. Made sure to write down everything checked off on the old Gateway ( 1K0 907 530F ) using the VCDS and did the did the swap. Used the VCDS to check off everything on the new Gateway from the old one, clicked OK and the coding was accepted. Also installed a new HPFP (banjo bolt FSI) and a new N205 Valve on the car. Car runs and drives great and the radio/phone works great.
Was able to run a report today (thanks again Ross-Tech support) and the results are below. It is a complete and total nightmare. I did not perform any resets so that may eliminate some of the Engine codes because parts were replaced, but the rest of the report melts my brain. Car still has a slight battery drain issue but not as quick as before. Should I try a non-China Gateway? I have read that any Gateway later than ( 530L ) version will work with my car. My car still has the factory sat. radio under the passenger seat if that matters. Car was basically issue free with only a few mechanical issues prior to the RCD330 swap.
I'm willing to drive anywhere in the Chicagoland area if someone out there knows how to help me fix my RCD330 issues. Thanks in advance to everyone I appreciate your time.
