Hi, first time posting on here as i have only just purchased vcds, something i wish now i had done some time ago.

Anyway the issue i have is with a SEAT IBIZA 1.6TDI CR,ABS Long coding has been turned to all zeros due to trying a different instrument cluster. I believe the coding can require brake disc sizes which are 256mm on the front and 232mm on the rear.

I hope one of you will be able to help me to generate the long code for this module, as i said i have only just purchased vcds so there is no scan from before the coding was lost to refer to.

I will attach the full scan, thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Is the original back in now? Do the VINs in the ECU and the cluster match the VIN of the car?

no pressure then :) i think i'm probably most experienced in ESP8.2i and ESP9.0i and even MK60EC! (I never actually had a car with a MK60EC1 nor did I ever code one with my own interface) but I'll have a go!

If the coding takes, it should be all fine. Perhaps you have TPMS but your cluster coding says it doesn't.
You likely also don't have a steering angle sensor so it's just a matter of coding the ABS and that's it.

hi iichel, I tried the code it was rejected. There is no TPMS but I think there is a steering angle sensor as I did have a fault code come up for that on the scan.

should I be using a security login number to allow recoding?

Yes, I believe your car does have a steering angle sensor since it has static cornering lights.
No you don't need SA. what error did you have? 22? 31?

Well I thank you both, I'm happy that I made the decision to buy a Ross tech lead, it has just paid for itself in the first use. Hopefully this can help someone else in the future too. Thanks again.

Ps the weather is wet and cold here in Dundee Scotland, it usually is. There's not much difference in the weather in Holland. Hopefully will be back over to the Netherlands soon after covid regulations. I will be back to assen for the truckstar festival asap.

Ah yeah the Truckstar festival at the TT circuit is not far from my home town. Perhaps we'll meet there after the covid has cleared. Enjoy your vcds, it's a great tool and apparently great value as well :)

Yes, the hardest part was finding a reference scan. There are many unresolved cases of lost coding on the known places but it looks like this is the first case that worked out the right way.
