Hello ,

I will change my crankshaft and water pump on my audi A5 engine type

EA288, and I would like to know the exact procedure to properly bleed

the cooling system with my VCDS, it's necessary as Elsawin says.

I have seen some explanations on the net, but often incomplete, or

in languages that I do not understand.

I know that there is a sequence , I guess using IDE08287 then either? 04795?or 08087?, with differents minutes turn

generated by the program and calculators to open, can you detail

this process to me please . I think would have been useful to many members and owner of VCDS

Hello everyone,

Kindly read this SSP 820433.

There are two methods, which I recommend:

Method one: Take it from me, take the vehicle to the dealer.

Method two: There is a device known as a coolant vacuum refill kit, get that it works.

the dealer solution is not for me, no one works on my vehicles, I'm a trained mechanic,

The system you talk about, it's to fill the system first, by depression, but it's no longer enough with the new engines.

There are several electromechanical pumps and anti returns in the circuit, which requires the use of either Odis or VCDS. You have to activate the different pumps electrically to bleed the system
.
I think with the functions taken on, but I "would like how to use (04795 or 08087?) Who has already used these functions

@ Petit, indeed there are certain valves and motors must run, when bleeding the coolant system, hence I suggested that you take it to the dealer.

Shade ok, but then why have a program vcds if it is only useful to carry out measurements and activate some options,
in which case I bought Odis so for me it is a working tool, not a toy,
if I have vcds for many years it is precisely not to go in dealership or they work very badly and do not respect customers' vehicles.

Hello Boki Ar,
Thanks for the idea, but I do not know if like that we purge everything on all the small cooler, ' small circuits (oil, intercooler, etc.) now it may work.
what is a shame is to have a tool like VCDS and not to use it, do you not find?
It 's an important function just like the opening of brake calliper, handing over levels , Fap, Etc.

Hi,
First use vacuum to fill the circuit than activate fill coolant circuit in basic settings and follow instructions. that should do it . engine should be running and program takes care of the rest. first it will bleed the high pressure circuit and then low pressure circuit. After it has finished pump will stay activated for about 150 km .

Hello grunf, thank you we are moving forward well, it is actually in this sense that I asked my question.

For the first filling with the depression system ok, but the small problem is that I do not have in my basic setting menu fill cooling system,

and I have IDE numbers before the protocol. I guess I have to go into adaptation bleeding of cooling circuit,
there active score, then Basic setting drop-down menu test- bleed cooling circuit, but there is also several bleeding options solutions (test bleed low temperature circuit),
the I have message for the brakes and the accelerator that appears I guess to anchor it then as you say the purge sequencing, is that correct in your opinion?

This is not exact procedure, maybe it helps someone testing.

EA288 can be many different engines and cooling system layout, different pumps etc!
Information from erwin is needed and right equipment, VAS 6096..
Just a few engines: CLHA, CRBC, CRKA, CRKB, CRLB, CRUA, CVCA, CUNA, CUSA, CUSB, CUTA, CUAA
We have not seen an Autoscan from your A5.

As for my engine, it's actually a CSUA, included in your list with the 3 pumps as you say very well.

I just did one and works, Only thing I have to cycle igntion one time, first time abort it Basic setting for some reason.
