DQ200 7speed DSG - Golf 2013 - No Drive

Hi all,

I'm starting out on my first DSG repair and feeling very green about it..

Vehicle arrived grinding reverse gear & sometimes not able to select reverse. When I went to drive it in to work shop it had lost forward & Reverse completely.
I know the mechatronics are a problem but the codes from the attached auto scan don't make me confident the mech is the only issue here.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Both of the errors can be caused from bad mecha. Check the mechatronic visually do you see any bulges especially in the area of pressure chamber. Are there any oil spills in the engine room close to the mechatronic?

One common failure is cracking of the pressure chamber which causes blockage in the pressure pipes thus causing pressure rise and total destruction of the mecha unit.
That seems to be especially a problem with the DQ200 unit.

Basic settings will fail and you will waste time, Most common failure for No reverse is the poor design for bearings on the Selector Shift fork for the 6/R, grinding noises don't sound too pretty? lost in reverse clearly G490 cannot work , and will shut all of your even gears (half valve train 2), take mech unit off and make sure all of the selector forks are moving smoothly left Neutral Right( 3 positions), i would focus on the Upper LEFT selector Fork for this is the 6/R , make sure it moves by hand to the left or apply some pressure but it has to move ,if not and its stuck that's your problem for Reverse, No Forwards well the mech unit needs to be above 40bars to actually function, if its below you will not have no gears engaged, read MVB 30 or Pressure Actual and see what it looks like, if below, replace the Accumulator Plate in mech unit, after that carry out your basic settings and you should be fine.

Thanks guys, It was indeed the bushing / bearing on the reverse selector both were replaced The accumulator housing must have failed while at workshop, Its n ow all back together and shifting beautiful.
