PLEASE HELP with 2013 facelift A4 coding fix, post Bi-Xenon conversion.

Hi

I really need help with this as I have tried everything I know and have been to 2 local Audi shops that have not been able to help. I have a 2013 Audi 'facelift' A4 premium that came with Halogen headlights. I have nearly successfully completed my Bi-Xenon conversion after following various threads and Kufatec instructions. I am hopeful that only a final coding fix for the DRL's remains, which is why I need your help.

I'll give the current status relative to switch position as I think that will make it clear:

Switch at 0 or 'off': No lights at all (should be Daytime Running Lights on full).
Switch at pos 2 or 'auto': HID on when dark, and DRL's on but dim, orange parking lights on.
Switch at pos 3 or 'parking lights': Orange parking lights on and DRL's on dim.
Switch at pos 4 or 'on': HID on and DRL's on dim, orange parking lights on.
HIGH BEAMS: work with push and pull of selector stalk.

I have tried all kinds of combinations of coding found on various threads from Audizine, Audiworld, etc and the above is pretty much the best I can get. I have been able to get the DRL's to flash fully bright twice and then go off when the switch is moved to 'auto' or 'on' position using other coding options on BYTE 3, so I know the DRL will work at full brightness. I also have tried changing the 'adaptation channel 3 to many different values from 24-100 with no change at all in brightness when in the corresponding switch positions. I have never had anything come on when the switch is in the 'off' position.

I didn't mention that I did swap out the J519 module from the stock '8K0 907 063 P' unit to a brand new '8K0 907 063 DL' unit. I was told to use that unit by Nick from OEM+ while the Car was at Eurocode being looked at. Prior to the swap I couldn't get the BYTE 0 coding to accept a '26' and the High Beams weren't working. After the swap both of those issues were resolved and the DRL's started working but only in the manner described above and not in the way they are supposed to work. I'm hoping someone here can even just point me to what might be the issue, if not give me coding advice.

--> It's certainly not factory as evidenced by the lack of any control module for the Xenons. <-- Seems I'm wrong about that -- sorry. :facepalm:

8K0 907 063 D
8K0 907 063 BE

Are you sure 063 DL is supposed to be there?

Did they mentioned the other modules ??

This is one of those super duper looong coded B8 facelift BCM1 units so the lack-of 55 (depending on the factory installed PR codes/lights) is normal. The level sensors are wired to/from 09, the LED DRLs may be subsystems beneath it, etc ...but I don't think any of those are AFS.

I do not have any personal experience with this retrofit but are you using the factory level wiring diagrams? If so, don't post them here, but let us know which current flow diagram numbers you are working from.

Thank you for responding! I replaced the original 8K0 907 063 P J519 module with the 8K0 907 063 DL module per Nick @ OEM+ who is the distributor for the Kufatec conversion cable. He told me that was the module I needed. That change did allow the High Beams to work and the DRL's to work in the manner they are now. I know others with pre-facelift A4/S4's have switched to the 'D' module but that is an old module and I didn't want to put that into a newer car.

To the best of my understanding from all the reading I've done, people only changed the J519 module if the High Beams wouldn't work. I tried it because I was at a dead end. Keep in mind the DRL's are working now, just not properly which is the really frustrating part. I can't get them to come on at full brightness in Off or Auto like they are supposed to. Does that sound like just a coding issue to you?

The only work with electrical I've done so far, other that swapping the J519, is using the Kufatec Conversion cable and following their instructions for plugging it's 2 wires into it (J519) for the High Beams.
This has been successfully done by 2 people I've read about on Audizine and 1 guy I asked from ebay (as far as the 2013 facelift conversion). Thing is, they had private Audi shops do the work for them so they can't help with what was done exactly. 2 of them did mention that they think a couple wires were changed in the adapter. I have had it to 2 shops so far, Eurocode in Torrance, Ca. where the lights were bought from by the guy who sold them to me and Ingolstadt West in Canoga Park, Ca. Ian @ Ingolstadt West got them to the point they are now and is still trying to help me but nothing yet.

I love the improved beam pattern of the ecodes and the improved light output overall of the Xenons, but I really am trying to get that trademark Audi look with the DRL's. So many people have done this successfully back to 2009 at least, that I never thought it would be this much trouble. I've invested close to 2k now, $400 of which was the ROSS-TECH cable because I thought I should be able to do it myself as so many others had! I know is crazy, but I kept thinking, this next thing will be it!
I hate to think I've spent so much and just can't get that final step done.

If you guys could at least say whether you think it needs wiring or coding to get the DRL's to work right, it would get me at least a step closer. These are factory options on the Premium plus and Prestige packages, which I wish to God I had got!! I sadly assumed since they are such an Audi trademark that they were standard. The dealer of course didn't mention it. I couldn't have afforded it at the time anyway, but with what I've put in now, it would be close to the same!

All equipment is AUDI OEM. I’m using 2013 ecodes that are from a 2013 B8.5 “facelift” S4, bought from Eurocode. All part #’s are the same across A4/5 S4/5 for 2013+ models per Audi parts database.*

I never did such retrofitting, but I would change the light switch to this component with PR-Code for Bi-Xenon.
Maybe there are some other wire connections you need, but I'm just out of office and no access to WD for further help.

anyone know how resolve problem with xenon range control defective - error on dash?
I sucessfull add bcm module 8k0907063DH (org 8k0907063DD) and remove CP in audi dealer. Now I have 1 error in bcm and error on dash 01312 - powertrain data bus - no signal communication.
I can adjustment xenon range control in bcm and all is ok 0.0
If someone resolve this problem I want pay - no problem,

Can you post the scan with the original BCM (8K0 907 063 DD) or a scan clip from it so we can check the before and after coding values?

P.S. The VCDS Polish scan from the old module would be fine so don't go out of your way to try and obtain English. Plugging in the old BCM may cause CP problems.

Thanks. For some reason PL24 shows a 8K0907063DL module which does not appear to supersede to a newer part number. That makes me wonder if that module wasn't already swapped at some point prior to this.
