Where are the air quality sensors?

I have issues with the interior air temperature. I have to have the temp on max to get any heat (which becomes too hot) or it is cold on any other setting.
I have done a scan but got no idea where the sensors are in order to replace them.
Can anyone tell me where they are based on this scan if possible. Thanks.

Hi, the air quality sensor is located close to the wiper motor. In my view, it has nothing to do with your problem. I think that either a sensor for outflow temperature or the sensor for sun position is the cause. Have you made a basic setting for the flaps? What is the temperature difference between the heating hose and the return hose?

Thanks. I have no idea. Only things I have done is reset the flaps to see if that helped and an aircon service. None of which helped.
The temp differance is worse when the aircon is on.
It is steadily getting worse with aircon off.
Are there temp sensors in any of the ducts and if so, where.

There's only one air quality sensor and on a LHD car it's under the passenger side wiper in the "rain tray" or whatever it's called

It could be the sensor or it could be wiring to the sensor.

Although (like ai_Ingo) I wouldn't have thought that a faulty air quality sensor would produce the symptoms described. Still, the sensor is relatively easy to replace-so it does eliminate a possible cause(I guess)

PS: the written stuff from the manufacturer has lots of warning labels about the need to keep the new sensor clear from any contaminants during the replacement process. Apparently these sensors are prone to failure if exposed to pollutants (so don't chuck the new sensor into a grubby, oily tool box while you access the plenum chamber)

Thanks guys. I will get that one replaced this week.
Do you know if there are any sensors inside the air ducts on the dash? The two by each door and the two above the radio (or anywhere else where there is a duct)
I hope I don't have to remove the dash but if needs be then it will have to be done.

I agree with ai_Ingo and Don that the faulty air quality sensor does not affect the amount of hot or cold air blown inside, sorry I somehow did not register the actual problem, I was just staring at the fault codes

The air quality sensors only affects the automatic recirculation. So changing the sensor does not fix the poor heat output problem. To me this sounds like a faulty or blocked heater matrix : https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?7373777-Heater-core-flush

Open module 08, have a look at measurement blocks for left and right side temperature flaps V158 and V159. Change the temperature through its range and see how the measurement blocks change - if it's smooth and linear or jumpy and erratic?
