i have a question related to Immobilizer. I got this vehicle: 2010 audi A4 2.0T is there a way using the scanner to id the immo version on this car? whether using VCDS or other scan tool.

We haven't really kept track of Immo "versions" since 4C, where the whole on-line challenge/response thing became necessary. This car has at least that level.

You should be able to see the Immo Challenge code if you go to Advanced ID in 05: Acc/Start Auth. You'll also see that this code changes every time the ignition is cycled.

oh ok then how does ODIS create/make a new key ? there is a bunch of handheal that are able to make the key amount then XTools, AVDI VVDI lonsdors... but i need to be able to id the system.

also another questions that might be related to my post: why independant auto shop can't get ODIS loaded with all the immo features? or why is so hard to get a LSID from NASFT ? they are already changing the application process (monopolizing it)

On current cars, it alone does not. I believe you have order a key that is somehow pre-coded to the VIN of the car. Once the key arrives, you still have to match it to the car. ODIS does that by sending the current immo challenge code to the VW/Audi corporate server. The server generates the corresponding response, which unlocks the matching function.

It is possible if you want to jump through all the hoops and spend the requisite amounts of money.

That process wasn't particularly hard in the past.

Yes, I understand they are changing it. I gather this is due to some serious abuse that they've experienced; cars that were stolen using codes obtained with a LSID.

When You order key, Component Security Data is pre-written to key, also known as Dealer Key.
A Key Tool has to write this data, obtained from some module from car, into key.

Depending on immo version, adaption is carried out different way. Immo5 procedure is to check all immobilizer related modules if immo fault is active and then correct it. Then it asks if You want to add key. Then You have to hold key next to coil for it to be read.
I'm not familiar with Immo5 procedure with 3rd party tools, but for Immo4, key data was written manually to immobilizer module so when starting with that key, it would be recognized.
Accessing the module would deploy series of exploits to get access.

I ordered the key from ebay (see the link, a blank key) last week but i needed to learn how to add it. i was hoping VCDS could help on that as always using Vag Tacho but is was a completely new experience. I don't understand why is getting so impossible to purchase ODIS. it is punching us(independents auto shops) to use a 3rd party ( locksmiths or new equipments) we can afford any tool.... it is just a bureaucratically impossible effort to get it.
