Audi A3 8V 2016 Lane change + Adaptive cruise control + MMI navigation Plus

Hello members,

I have some oncoming projects with an Audi A3 8V 2016 year and want to be sure of some things before starting.

As you saw I wish to have Lane change assist, ACC, and MMI navigation plus (7 inch screen instead of mine 5").

The questions are :
1.Am I thinking of purchasing correct parts?

For Lane change:

- A pair of radar sensors with brackets in the rear bumper;
- A pair of rear view mirror covers with orange indicator LED's;

For Adaptive cruise control:

-Acc "eye" in the front of the car;
-Cruise control stalk with acc option;
-Instrument cluster? (now I have single color (White/black) Instrument cluster);

For MMI Navigation Plus:

-7 inch screen;
-MMI navi + control head (with 2 sd card slots);

2.Will my car accept all the things? How to check i.e. if ABS will accept Acc?

3.Which modules will have component protection?

If anyone has any info, did something similar, or can help me anyhow, will be much appreciated!

Another question : Is it necessary to have front camera assist system, if I want acc?

No, ACC will also work without front assist camera system.

BUT 8V is MQB platform A3. ACC retrofit is not just install the parts and code them away.

First of all, if your car does not have ACC from factory, the car does not have the FEC (feature enablement code) for it and ACC is disconnected immediately when it talks with gateway. You CANNOT buy the feature from Audi as aftermarket. Factory only I'm afraid. And no way to circumvent it easily.

Only option is to get hacked ACC radar, install that and have an authorized workshop to remove component protection from the radar to make the gateway accept it.

Positive side, your gateway is ok for ACC and also your ABS module should be fine. What you would need to change are the rear ABS sensors to WHT3864A if your car does not have park assist system (the one that automatically parks the car).

ACC is very difficult due to the SWAP codes. Lane change assist is possible with the good ABS module and als Gateway High is needed. MMI + is also possible ask for APG. They deliver complete sets.

Did you get any further with this? I'm considering adding ACC to my A5 and looking at the SWAP Code or alternative routes.
