The seat occupant detection module fault needs fixing. Otherwise the light will not go off.

The reason for the fault could be in the wiring going from floor to seat under the seat or the seat belt buckle. There's a detection that is tied to airbag system as well.

On the ABS system, you have system function test activated. You need to finish that first before you try to do any basic settings or anything. The ABS does not accept any changes until that is finished.

Thanks everyone. So I finally completed the turn the wheel between 90° and 180° test. I was trying it yesterday but I think I was getting less than 90°. My ABS light is no longer on, but I think my traction control light is on. I’m going to retry the steering angle sensor basic setting and reactivate my TPMS and see if the light stays off. I have the airbag light turned off but I may have deactivated my airbags all together, I’m going to turn them back on and see if the light stays on.

I’m pretty sure the airbag light was caused either by me disconnecting it and turning the power on last week, or the coding on the ABS module. The light came on when I entered the ABS long code.

Yes, thank you to everyone for all of your help!

So all of the warning lights have gone off as far as I can tell. I still get a ding when I start up the vehicle and I'm guessing it has to do with the "Failure to communicate with TPMS unit" or whichever code is left in the ABS module. I have no idea what that issue is. I have the indirect TPMS so I'm not sure where the issue is.

Note: Airbag malfunction (failure to communicate with occupant sensor) went away after I completed the ABS module function test or whatever it was where I had to turn the wheel between 90 and 180 degrees.

The airflow at idle is too low fault should hopefully go away after I complete a throttle body alignment which brings me to one final issue-
What's the deal with the "Check DTC memory of steering wheel electronics" fault? My cruise control still works fine. I've searched all over with no solutions found. Is it because I recoded the voice command button to a mute button?

Anyways, thanks again to all of you. You all have been such a huge help and I'm glad to finally have ABS and all the other features tied into it on my car.

I think the problem is that you have direct TPMS system configured which you obviously don't have.

I would try and change byte 16 from A7 to 05. So new coding would be :

I double checked that exact area of coding and all of our 1K0 907 379 B? @ SWL 0106 (B suffix) good baseline NAR scans had HEX A7. The older A? suffix @ SWL 0105 scans were coded differently as downtime pointed out.

That TPMS DTC will probably resolve itself after a reset with the button (hold for 3 - 5 seconds and wait for a beep) followed by a test drive with properly inflated tires. Please try that with the coding as-is in addition to downtime's suggestion if it fails.

I’ve tried that before (holding the reset button in glovebox) but nothing happens. No ding, no light, nothing. Should I go ahead and change A7 to 05 in the long coding?

There are two TPMS code suggestions in the ABS module. One is “TPMS via instrument cluster” which I have deactivated, and “TPMS installed” which is active.

I’ll try changing the code per Downtime’s suggestion and see what happens.

What about the “Check DTC memory of steering wheel controls”? Should that go away when the TPMS issue is resolved?

The steering wheel DTC could be your coding. You mentioned that you had the voice command button coded to mute? That could be one reason.

Make sure you attempted to reset it with the key on, engine off. Some cars are stubborn if you try to do it at idle. Another option is Basic Settings 042 reset and it doesn't matter if the engine is running or not in my experience.

Okay so I changed the long code as suggested (coding accepted), and now I get a new fault in the ABS module: “02186 - Engine <-> ADR interface”. The box for TPMS Installed is still checked in the ABS long code helper.

I will post a scan when the WiFi starts working.
