Hi all, this is my first post here.
I have always messed with alh's, but this is my first attempt at CR emissions diag. As a heavy truck mechanic I do have a considerable amount of experience with emissions systems for mack and cummins, so I do understand the sytems very well.
I am working on a 2010 jetta. It has just shy of 108,000 miles on it. The DPF light is on. The only emissions code I have is the following:
006744 - NOx Catalyst
P1A58 - 000 - Regeneration Required
Filter oil ash volume was 0.0, calculated soot load was 0.6, measured soot was 0.0.
I first did a regen while driving with VCDS. I am not sure what good temps are for a regen on these, so I don't know if it was necessarily a good regen. The highest I saw pre-turbo was around 600C, pre-filter was staying in the 400 range, and post filter was getting above 600c. This was yesterday, and I admittedly don't remember anything more specific than that. Calculated soot load went down to 0.3, the others remained at 0.0
After this I cleared codes, and still had the same code present as before, light is still on.
Then I did 2 parked regens with some time in between. These were both successful, and took approximately 20-30 minutes each. Pre-turbo temps were a bit above 600c, I don't remember what the pre-filter temps were. The post filter temps at one point were over 900c. From my experience with heavy truck, that is ridiculously high. Am I right with that? No change to the ash or soot numbers after these regens.
That being said, cleared the codes, same code is still present, and the light is still on.
Is it time to replace the DPF? that is my thought, but I don't want to just throw parts at it.
Thanks for the help!
EDIT: i just saw the "how to do a great first post", and saw about including an autoscan. I will get that tomorrow
Here are my codes throughout the process
