I'm not sure whether that's needed on this car, perhaps @NEtech would know?
In any case, you'll definitely have to do a login with 11463 on the ECU to enable cruise.

Yeah it does wire up to the ECU on those. Like so - pretty simple via T10s - a white plug in the left footwell (which could mean "driver" side and therefore be right side on a UK model). Cannot trust the WDs 100%.
PS - easiest hook up for the ro/gn wire is from the clutch switch (F36) to save you running a separate feed all the way from SB panel.
