Hello,

Would like to get VAG-COM cable to be able to Lock the car while keeping the engine running
Found this post which worked ok to Golf MK6
http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35329

anyone tried the same on mk7 with KESSY option, does it work fine or will disable some other security functions ?

Thanks

The Mk.7 cars have almost all new systems in them. It would presumptive to assume that any scan-tool procedures that people have documented for prior cars like an Mk.6 are likely to work on an Mk.7.

Mask: Hi
The Benevolent Dictator's comments are correct. There are no coding descriptors in the BCM of a mk7 that closely resemble the mk6 tweak.

BUT, (and this is just a guess) the BCM on the mk 7 does have an adaptation channel which is described as (1)-Access control-Funk bei Klemme 15 ein.

Now my German language skills are non existent, but according to Mr Google, this translates to (1) -Access control radio at terminal 15 on. The default setting for this adaptation channel for ALL 13 mk7 models in my data base is not active.

The translation sounds plausibly similar to the mk6 Coding string descriptor Remote control with terminal 15 on inactive. Why not try setting this channel to active and see what happens? Worst case scenario is that you will need to revert the setting back to its original value!
cheers
Don

PS: the adaptation channel will be the 4th one down the list when you select Adaptation -10 from the Open Controller screen for the BCM.
PPS: I suspect that you will need to enter the magic number 31347 into the security screen before you make any changes

^^^^EDIT; just a short update. Coincidentally and unconnected to "mask's" post above, this same question was asked on another forum. OP confirmed that this suggestion above worked (see HERE) -can't add note to post,so new post needed
