Hello, about a year ago I fitted a Pioneer SPH-DA250DAB radio to my GTI (all of the steering wheel controls worked as they should) however over the year I realised I wanted something that looked like it was meant to be there unlike an aftermarket unit so I ordered an RCD330 radio and patiently waited for it to arrive.
Once it arrived I installed it and it worked well apart from my steering wheel controls no longer worked.
Next I decided to change the Canbus module to a revision L one because I had a revision F module and I'd heard about the battery drain problems.
So after checking the old revision F modules Long coding I fitted the revision L module.
After an error with the Long coding due to the length of code being different I discovered I needed to used the Installation list instead. Now I've gotten to the point where I'm pretty sure I have ticked all of the boxes in the Installation list that need to be ticked.
However when I perform an Auto-Scan I keep getting a fault code "01317" for address 56 - Radio and my steering wheel controls proceed to not work like they did with the Aftermarket radio.
So my questions are...
Have I coded the revision L module correctly?
What could be causing the fault code for 56- Radio?
