A while ago I swapped my original wheels with TPMS and disabled it on the car : >17 instruments, > adaption > Channel 61 -512 from value.

I’d like to reactivate the system and re use the sensors in my new wheels.
Unfortunately in my haste, I’ve had the sensors removed from my old wheels before testing them so could be wasting my time fitting the into the new wheels.

My question is, do they need to be pressurised for the car to see them as I’ve reactivated the system but getting TPMS in yellow on the DIS?

I’ve tried pressurising them by placing them in a (dry) garden weed sprayer near the rear of the cars antenna and depressurising to wake them up.

In M/B’s all the serial numbers are present in wheel set 2, are these saved from before the system was deactivated or would these have been picked up on reactivation?

All show no actual pressure whether pressurised or not.

Only thing I’ve not tried is taking it for a drive, think I’ll try with the sensors loose in the car then pressurised.

13 years old so probably dead although worked fine 6 months ago.
A scan brings up an 01833 fault, been present since deactivating the TPMS but always assumed it was connected to turning if off.

I certainly wouldn't put 13 year old TPMS sensors back in service. It's just too much work to replace them when they fail.

The TPMS sensors on my B7 started to fail after 9 years, so I agree with Uwe that after 13 years they should be considered as end-of-life.

IIRC they go into a battery saving mode until they sense they are moving, so a static test won't be useful.

Is an 01833 fault code only caused by a faulty antenna/wiring or dead wheel sensors or something else when deactivating them?

Antenna replaced and now no 01833 DTC

New preprogrammed aftermarket sensors fitted, now have 01521 002, not recognised X4, Raw, Index/Key Err 194 000 000

No ‘actual’ pressures displayed in MB 001.

Correct ID’s present but 00h so in storage mode MB 003.

71 h (standard sending mode), displays actual pressures & and all id's present in M016

Stored ID’s sets 1 and 2 showing old ID’s.

Any ideas?
