Hi all,

Firstly apologies. I'm asking for help without really being a customer as I had use of a cable from another forum user on VWROC. BUT if I can get an answer to this it may help others. When opening the 5F controller on a retrofitted 2016 MIB2 Discover Pro infotainment unit a pop-up appears with the following "Unable to find a .ROD file for: MUHig6C3Gen2HBAS 001115 (VW37) Please ensure you are using the latest files including BETA"#

I need access to adaptation (which remains greyed-out and unselectable even after the SA code is entered) in order to properly code drive modes and TMC for the unit.

The current BETA includes different versions of this file name but obviously not the one required. I don't fully understand ROD files and part of my problem is that I don't have the software or the cable in my possession, however, I can get access to it again and am hoping for a solution before I do.

Would be really very appreciative of any help or advice from anyone in the know.

The ROD file naming stuff is indeed quite complicated. Just because there's not an exact match doesn't mean VCDS won't be able to find an appropriate file. So please post a complete Auto-Scan from the car in question using Beta 17.3.1 for context.

Here it is. Note that the component protection malfunction on the can gateway is due to the MIB2 unit being retrofitted and it has component protection removed. Note the errors on 5F re. the ROD file.

It would appear that your retrofit has confused things, because I can find scans of cars that this ASAM ID belongs in that do pull up a ROD file.

Many people have retrofitted these units and used VCDS to change adaptations to suit. What would you recommend I try to un-confuse things?

Incidentally the person that purchased this from says that they to get the ROD file error.

We're looking for a reasonable way to handle this.

Give than the same part number "3G0 035 043 D" can have more than one ASAM ID, it's not at all straightforward when you put it in a car in which it doesn't belong.

Fair enough. I appreciate your efforts. For me personally if there were a workaround just to activate the developer menu using the S12345 code that would really help but I don't know if that's any easier.
