Performing Retrofit of Halogen to Xenon with full Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS). Had to change CAN Gateway 5Q0907530S to 5Q0907530AC as original CAN Gateway does not have an extended BUS (pins 7 and 17 missing) which is used to provide data to AFS Module. Recoded new module with old code and changed all adaptive channels that were different. Went to dealer to have component protection removed. After which, AFS works like a charm, but get EPC (Engine Power Control) light and cruise control does not work (lights up in yellow with explanation mark behind). No failure of CAN Gateway, just the 1 engine failure 17169 Check Coding of ECU on Powertrain Data Bus. When I put old CAN Gateway back in, Engine Failure goes away, but obviously no AFS.
I have checked and re-checked adaptive channels for differences and do not see any. I did note that IDE04330-Transfer of release code for a SWaP function is 00 00 in old module and 368 sets of 00 in new module. When I attempt to change new module to just two sets of 00, VAGCOM prompts as must be 368 sets of Hex characters. In VAGCOM Basic Setting you can perform certain function of SWaP, provided a screen shot.
Also new module does not have adaptive channel IDE10735-Number requests autonomous recharging. However, that is unlikely related.
Any ideas on how to resolve? Any ideas on what SWaP is and if it could affect?
