S3 8l rnse retro fit coding help

Hi new here was hoping someone could help I have just retrofitted a rnse mk1 and a genuine Audi Bluetooth module and mic in my 2001 s3 i managed to get the rnse working fine cd changer works but I'm struggling to get the phone/Bluetooth working and also the track info in the dis display (use to work)
I know it has to be coded as a a6 in vcds and I get code 0519713 but Bluetooth doesn't work
Car has Bose,factory cd changer, Bluetooth (phone)

The dis display I've followed the instructions module 17, adaptation channel 62 and code 15 but still a blank display

If you have Bluetooth then AFAIK there should be a Bluetooth module at address 77, but I don't see that in the Auto Scan, because the list of addresses scanned doesn't include 77!

Good point. I doubt the 8L ever had 77 from the factory.

I wonder what happens if he tries to access 77 directly?

Assuming it talks, it would be a simple matter to make a custom entry for his car that includes it (and skips the stuff his car isn't equipped with).

I did go in to module 77 manually and it shown 3 fault codes
They were 01385,00532,01523 also the Bluetooth module (8p0862335c) was coded to 0011811. It's only the phone/Bluetooth that is not working on the rnse that and the dis display is just blank now on old factory stereo it would show track info

Does the DIS on the 8L use the Infotainment CAN connection or is it the older serial clock/data system?

I had a 2000MY 8L S3 a few(!) years ago and can't remember...

I will re scan it tomorrow and post up the data sheet, petrol Dave as far as I know (probably wrong)preface lift didn't use the can but facelift does.Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it, going to have to get my vcds registeration swapped over so I can have full use as I think this site will be very handy to have full access to

Does anyone know if the factory Audi Bluetooth modules are interchangeable between models? Will a module from an a4 work in the a3?

Provided it's an 8P0 862 335xx or 8P1 862 335 xx module they can all be coded for an A3 (hence the 8P0 or 8P1 prefix).

The advice is always to go for the newest version you can find, preferably an 8P1 prefix, as they support more phone types.

I couldn't get a 8p0 to work in my s3 (8l) maybe because I have to code the rnse unit as it was in a a6 before 04 on the options as the Bluetooth and rnse wasn't available on my model

There used to be a lot of information on http://www.audiforum.us on this sort of retrofit and how to make it work (I'm no longer active there as I don't own an Audi any more), probably worth you doing some research there...

i have been reading this thread with great interest as i too have just fitted a Rns-e part # 8P0 035 193 G to my 57 S3 and my problem is i have a few speaker faults . Amp fault . What i am wondering is i have asked around various garages and people and i am getting conflicting answers to this Question ( i have the pin code for stereo ) but do these head units need to be coded to the cars ECU before the faults will be removed . I would happily post my scan but i don't know how to on this forum as i am totally a newbie thanks in advance if any help is forth coming
