Hello,
The ancient Windows based laptop that I used for running decided to stop working yesterday so I decided to see if I could get working with my MacBook or my dad’s iPad using my HEX-NET interface and a WiFi connection. First thing to do was to find and download the “WiFi Configuration Utility” which I found here
https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/115/
Then, as so many on this thread have discovered, I couldn’t open it, the message “The application “HexNetConfig” can’t be opened.” was displayed. So I did a two fingered click over the HexNetConfig icon to bring up an option menu. From there I selected “Show Package Contents”, this led me to folder called “Contents”, I double clicked on that and discovered it contains 5 folders and 2 files, I then double clicked on the folder called “Java”. Inside the “Java” folder I found the “HexNetConfig.jar” file, I did a 2 fingered click on that file to bring up the option menu for the file, then I selected the “Open With” option, this gave me the option to open the file with “Jar Launcher”. When I selected this option I was presented with a warning that this was an application from an unknown source and all sorts of terrible things could happen to my MacBook and data should I choose to open it. I opened it and was able to configure my HEX-NET and get working through the “Safari” app on my MacBook and my dad’s iPad, but I still haven’t managed to get the interface working with the app on the iPad, but I’m sure I’ll muddle my way through it eventually.
I hope this is helpful to someone,
Neil
