Language Issue with Adaptation List

Howdy. New member here and I hope this isn't a dupe. I did some searching but couldn't find any definitive information.

So I've had my VAG-COM for a long time but I haven't really used it as I got rid of the Jetta I bought it for. So now I own a '16 GTI and I couldn't resist hooking it up to tweak a few things. When I opened the adaptation menu I found it to be completely different than all the walkthroughs I've read so far. All the channels are in German and not labeled the same.

For example, I was following the Deutsche guide to enable the window/sunroof keyfob open and close features. (http://shopdap.com/mk7-gti-remote-windows-how-to-code-vagcom/)

If anyone could let me know if this is normal or if I'm doing something wrong I'd greatly appreciate it.

FYI I'm running the latest VCDS 16.8.0 w/ a Hex+CAN USB device.

Post up an Auto-Scan please so we can see exactly what 09 module you have there and how it compares to the one in the guide you're trying to follow.

Note that the guide was done using software that's now close to 4 years old and it clearly has quite a bit of German text in it as well.

You also have a lot newer software in your BCM, but I don't think this makes much difference.

Now... Take advantage of the the features we've added to VCDS since that guide was published. See the little "Search" box in your screen-shot? Type a part of the name of the channel you're looking for in that box. For example, try typing "Comfort" (without the quotes) in there. This should limit the channels in the drop-down selection to those that have Comfort as part of their description. You may also try that with "Komfort" or "Funk"...

Thanks. I tried using the search feature but not in German. I'll give that a shot on Sunday and see if I can parse through it.

I'm guessing I'll just need to work on translating everything. Is there a way to export a list of the channels? . I'm guessing no.

Well, you're guessing wrong.

From the main screen in VCDS; go to:

Applications > Controller Channel Map > Stick 09 into 'Controller Address'
Leave 'Login or Security Access Code' blank, check 'Adaptations' and select your output as .csv - and away you go! You'll find the output in your \Logs folder.
