Hey guys, I'm having problems logging into my VCDS in section 11. I've been trying "01283" as that's what the program suggests I use via a little popup window, plus it seems like what most everyone else uses but I'm not having any luck. I'm not sure if it's supposed to acknowledge that I've logged in, but when I try to do some coding (section 07) it's not working.

Below is a scan of my 2001 2.0L Canadian Cabrio. From everything I know, it's 100% stock, so it shouldn't have an aftermarket chip or anything.

Do you guys have any idea? Maybe this car uses a different login code?

Thanks,
Chris

What exactly are you trying to code? There are only two options for that ECU: Manual trans and automatic.

I'm trying to change the engine '07 coding' from 00001 to 00000 because I removed the SAI system.

What makes you think that ECU supports coding away the SAI system?

Because of everything I've been reading on various forums over the past 2 days. Either way, even if it doesn't accept coding out the SAI, should my vagcom not at least allow me to login?

If the ECU doesn't drop the session, it did let you log in.

As a general rule, SAI can only be coded away on the first year of two of ABA ECUs. Starting at about 1998, the software in those ECUs no longer allowed that. Since you have a 2001, I'm not at all surprised that it won't let you.

Ohh ok. I wasn't too sure if there would be a "done!" notification when I actually logged in. Nothing happened, so I wasn't really sure. Thanks.
