Audi Q7 2015+enabling TPMS

Hi Everyone
I have a new Audi 2015 Q7 model that didn't come with TPMS and I would like to enable that. Im finding it difficult to see the proper procedure using VAGCOm to enable this. I also don't have any support from the Audi dealer in Dubai. I also want to check if this feature is available to enable post purchase. Im attaching an auto scan of my car so appreciate any tips and help to do this properly.

I don't see anything indicating that your ABS module supports indirect TPMS.

If I'm wrong about this, someone please correct me.

You should also be able to check if your ABS is capable of TPMS.

Look at you sticker in either your maintenance manual or in the trunk where the spare wheel is stored.

Where you should be able to find the code:

1AT - ABS/ESP is ready for TMPS
1AS - ABS/ESP is not ready for TPMS

The MK25E1 in the Q7 doesn't support indirect TPMS, also the Q7 doesn't differentiate between PR-1AT and PR-1AS, that's something with ESP low/high on the B8 platform.

The MK25E1 is a Conti system why the ESP in the B8s is a Bosch system - completely different animals. So the TPMS available from factory would be direct only, meaning if you'd want to retrofit that you need the control module, antenna's and the sensors - probably not worth the effort. An aftermarket direct TPMS might be cheaper and simpler to install.

Which system is used on the A6/A7 (C7) - they use an indirect system (with no sensors) - doesn't they ??

The "old" Q7 (4L) is very much like the old Touareg (7L), the new Q7 (4M) will likely support this. As far as the A6/A7 (4G) goes, they are similar to the B8 but use a completely different coding table for their Bosch systems.

Thanks Sebastian. My doubt was while ordering the car i could configure the car on the Audi Website and the difference in price between getting a TPMS system enabled was 500 AED thats about 122 EUR. if its a COnti system ESP, would that 122 EUR be for the indirect system then ? because on the web it says that the car comes with the indirect TPMS system relying on the ABS and not the direct one. using VAGCOM i can see all options to select TPMS and also on MMI i enabled using the hidden menu the TPMS but i just cant get the system to work from the ABS. The dealers here in Audi are just saying its impossible to get TPMS even though the configurator tool allows you to order it. I got screwed over by the sales people here at the dealership. They're only interested in car sales and not in providing after sales service and support. I tried contacting Audi directly as well but they keep directing me to the dealers here in Dubai again so i keep going back to square one. i dont want to ruin the appearance by putting in an aftermarket system

. I also invested in the cable from Ross Tech hoping i could do this myself. Anything else i can do ?

Following up on your email with maps (thanks again for that): There isn't much you can do, if the system doesn't support it - indirect TPMS is not something you can make magically appear. The only option you have is to retrofit the direct TPMS available from factory. Meaning sensors, antennas and control module - or installing an aftermarket TPMS system. Those are your choices.

Thanks. Just weird how then while ordering the car and its configuration you can add TPMS for less tan 100 EUR from Audi. Cos everything else seems to be same in the car.Would they have not used a Conti ABS module to support Indirect TPMS then.

wish it was that easy. Unfortunately i have been trying to find something and i cant. I have tried to speak to Audi directly but they are just useless here as they deal through a dealer. The dealer just wants to sell you more options and i dont think its fair to pay so much money. If the option exists they should help with an aftermarket solution as well. If i try to reach Audi in germany they just forward me to the guys out here in Dubai. So thanks a lot for your comments and help. Im guessing this is just not possible on the Q7's because i cant seem to find a car anywhere in the world that has this option of indirect TPMS on the Q7. so im guessing the coding, displays etc are similar to the A8's or something so you can add the function of TPMS but the hardware is just different. Hope im making sense.
