2010 Tiguan. We recently installed the trailer hitch module and added the module to the ECU. So we did a scan and now there are multiple scan errors but the trailer hitch scanned OK. lol. Could all these errors be caused by the battery disconnected.

Some of them? Seems likely. All of them? Probably not.

Was it entirely free of fault codes before you did the trailer retrofit?

If it were mine, I'd clear all the faults in it and see what comes back.

I have cleared the fault codes and waiting for a week to see what I have for issues. The key was definitely not in the ignition at all for the entire time the negative was off the battery.
