Can anyone help me here please. Car is Audi Q3 1.4 TFSi in the UK....Built and registered in 2014. Through VCDS I have added the lap counter function complete with oil temp display and also the boost pressure display, which all displays OK. The only issue I have now is that boost pressure bar does not animate at all, it remains an empty display.
Have I missed something?? Do I need to enable something else to display a simulation of boost pressure? Someone has suggested this is only available on the RS car, but I've seen a picture assumed from a 2.0 TDi, although this was a car from Poland.
Are there any measuring blocks for boost pressure, and if so, how do I check please...... Total newbie to VCDS, so treading carefully at the moment

Since your engine uses the newer UDS/ODX protocol, there are no measuring "blocks", but there are named measuring values (accessible via Advanced Measuring Values). One of them should be "Intake manifold pressure", and I think it will be number 221 in the current dataset.

Showing my ignorance/new user status here, but I assume you are referring to module 01 - Engine?? If that is the case, then I seem to be stuffed as there is no label file for my engine, and according to the online VCDS manual, I cannot access the "Advanced Measuring Values". If you meant control module 17 - Instruments, then none of your suggestions are there at address 078, 079 and 221. Any suggestions please Uwe, drpeter??

- Yes, the engine controller, that is where the boost is controlled and displayed in the value blocks.

- Since this is a UDS controller, the [Advanced Measuring Values] will be the place to view this information, a label file is not needed to view value blocks.
- Be sure you are pressing these buttons from the start...
[Select]
[01-Engine]
[Adv. Meas. Values.]

Woops! It would appear we need to update the manual that regard.

"This function is available only when a label file exists for the control module being accessed. " -- OR the control module uses the UDS/ODX protocol and a ROD file exists.

- To insert an image here in the forum, the image does need to be hosted on the internet, try doing a search for free image hosts and upload the image from your computer and then use their provided link to view the image.

I'm happy all is working as it should, engine wise. Will take it for a run and graph it to be sure.
Yes, the issue now is getting the necessary data from the engine to animate the display. This is where I was hoping you could help, or indeed anybody else on this forum.

Thanks Uwe, will do. Just re-read the online manual, so understand why. Still no answer to my question though re the animation of the Boost bar. Hope someone can give me a clue on this one...

Yes I know. I/we could just do with a working example that we can then reverse engineer, but I havent got a clue where to even start looking on a working car!!! Just what do you look for???
