VCDS/13 Passat not communicating

I am unable to do a Autoscan and get any module (except auto trans) to recognize my 2013 Passat TDI. I'm able to use it on my 05 NB with no issues.
Test and save is good. Key is on, not running. When I try to open a module I get "no response from controller". I did notice the LED stays slid green during all of this rather than the green/yellow it usually does.
I uninstalled older VCDS version and upgraded to the 20.4.1 but get same results. I've confirmed all USB ports are functioning and don't get shut down by Windows 7. Checked all forums but nothings comes up with my issues. Well at least for as long as my patients could handle.

Its probably something simple, just need more help.

Yes, it is very simple. According to our records, you have a KII-USB interface. This interface can only communicate via K-Lines, but not via CAN bus, and the 2013 Passat requires a direct CAN bus connection for everything except the TCU.
