Audi a4 2013 - 01319 - Control Module for Distance Control (J428) plus more

hi everyone,

got my vcds cable not long ago and a friend came over today with his audi a4 13 plate to do some tweaks, I won't post the first scan as I have managed to code a lot of those errors out, however I couldn't code a few (I know the 00862 - Antenna for GPS Navigation means he needs to look into his antenna connections and etc so ignore that) so could any of you more experienced people out there help with the rest?

would like to mention that I spent a good amount of time on trying to figure out what could be wrong coded in the Instruments and what would request the Control Module for distance from Central Electronics but no luck.

Also if you look at Address 56: Radio (R) Labels: Redir Fail! - I have send a map to Rosstech and waiting a reply from them regarding that

With the info posted it is a little difficult to say what is wrong here. Can you post the first scan of the car before you did anything and list what tweaks you did? This may help answer some questions although I am no expert at tweaks/coding mods. If I can't help hopefully someone else may be able to give some info then

I would say it is a bad idea to adjust coding to remove errors as this usually causes bigger problems than you started with. If errors are current the cause has to be fixed to allow them to clear using the "Clear Fault Codes" command.

I don't see anything obviously wrong with 09's coding in regards to Byte 35 but the original (to you) condition scan and CodingLog.CSV may shed light on the changes that were made that caused the initial conflicts.

Andrei sent the original (to him) condition scan via e-mail (in regards to the 56 lbl) and it wasn't a disaster. No doubt, it appears as if J519 (AW09), J285 (AW17) and J794 (AW5F) at the least were tinkered with previously but it wasn't wall-of-shame worthy DTC wise

He's going to test the new 17 coding suggestion above.

In the meanwhile I think I spotted the major discrepancy in 09.

The Active Steering config lives in Byte 7 and I have this commented out (unconfirmed) in that label:

;LC,07,1,Distance Regulation/Adaptive Cruise Control installed with Drive Select/Charisma active [PR-8T4] ??

Some of this documentation is a carry-over from the newer MLB based cars using 4G and 4H BCMs at which point ACC was nearly standard equipment but there wasn't much info available on the early B8/8K models. Although I believe something is goofy with the Headlight config in Byte 0 I'm pretty sure this will resolve the ACC DTC:
