So I’ve newly purchased vcds, thinking “and being told” dpf adaption would be simple, well I’m struggling 🙋*♂️🔫. I got my dpf cleaned.

I’m in adaption

IDE00275-particle filter initialization

And getting told “ERROR: channel not available”

Hoping someone could possible shed a bit light?

To be fair there’s not that much on the drop downs for me to do if I was wanting to, do I need to do a download of some sort to access more? Just for future reference?

Please post an Auto-Scan so people can see exactly what ECU this car has and what software that ECU has in it.

Stuart and I communicated via e-mail but I didn't notice this thread when I replied. He did send a scan but I'll let him decide if he wants to post he here to receive feedback from a larger group. If so, we can move this to the Car Repair Support section.

In the meanwhile, my reply this morning was:

You may want to firstly use Security Access code 27971 prior to Basic
Settings [*IDE00467*] Resetting of learned values of particle filter
however this is one of those TDIs with known issues (buggy engine
software) that may not support a reset until a dealer level flash update.

The newest software version for 8K0 907 401 F appears to be 0008 so I
may not have the latest TPI however Transaction No. 2021365/4 includes
this description:

"After replacing the diesel particulate filter the programmed value in
the engine control unit cannot be reset"

That TSB mentions SVM code AU01A001 which flashed the EDC to level 0006
at that time. For that reason I suspect a newer RoW market TPI exists.

In conclusion, if you are unable to reset the DPF values in Basic
Settings and/or Adaptation and driving the car for 20 - 100 miles
doesn't automatically clear the MIL you likely need to have the software
in your control model flash updated.

Best Regards,
Dana
