A couple of weeks ago, the HVAC on my 2011 Audi S3 failed. That is the fan blower wouldn’t switch on. All the HVAC’s red lights including the two LCD temperature numbers - showing the left and right hand cabin temperatures selected – were all dead. The only fault code then shown by auto-scan was 08- Auto HVAC 1 fault found 01273, Fresh Air Blower V2.
A local auto-electrician removed the blower fan, connected it to a battery and it spun freely. He also checked and tightened the in- line power connectors to the blower fan. HVAC was then working apparently 100% OK. Changing the fan setting, changed the fan speed and the cooling temperature changed as the selected temperature was adjusted. The auto-electrician said this indicated the resistor was probably working ok. Cooling was effective on a warm day (26c). All fault codes were then cleared.
Just to check, a couple of days ago, I ran auto-scan (attached) which showed these faults:

• Address 08 Auto HVAC 1 fault found 01273 - Fresh Air Blower (V2) 010 - Open or Short to Plus
As HVAC appears to be working OK, I’m tempted to do nothing if and until a problem becomes more apparent. That said, if there is problem, I’d like to fix it. Any suggestions on what to check next would be appreciated.
