Hello!

Having some fault codes on my audi s4 b5, the Engine has been out by previous owner and i didnt feel any issue earlier (never driven an s4 Before).
I installed an boost gauge and noticed that the boost pressure goes up to about 1Bar for a Quick moment then falls down to 0,5bar.
They also had installed an manual boost controller and to my suprise they had removed the n75 valve and had just left the contact dangling empty.

I made a scan of the car and mounted a n75 valve that is plugged at the moment i also pressure tested the intake system but still issue with boost it hits 1bar for a second and now goes down to about 0.6-0.7 bar. Tried adjusting boost controller but no luck. I will try remove it and make it original again but i still got fault code on one lambda sensor and exhaust temp sensor, are these faults making the car go in some kind of protection mode? I will make a better search on sunday but was asking here for some ideas on where to start looking?
Fuses, wires? any well know faults? maybe the sensors themself?
Codes is coming back directly after startup, no check Engine light on the dash.

You should definitely fix the EGT Sensor fault.

Is the software in the ECU stock?
Log requested and actual boost in MVB 115 and post the results.

The S4 2.7L turbo engine did have issues with the exhaust gas temperature sensors, there are newer replacement sensors available. I think there is even a TSB about this concern too, I can not seem to find one, maybe it was a parts TSB, either way, known issues with these EGT sensors. See Measuring Value Block group [112] for the Exhaust Gas Temperatures and compare Bank 1 to Bank 2, they should be close.

We have a Ross-Tech wiki page for the P0154-Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S1: No Activity fault code.

I would imagine the engine controller is going into a 'limp home mode' due to a possible over boost condition? Do you ever get an overboost fault code?

Personally, like you said, I would put everything to stock, N75, vacuum lines, etc.. Then road test the vehicle while either graphing or data logging the actual and specified boost, can be found in the Measuring Value Block group [115]. Verify the ECM is wanting to see about 8-9psi of boost(stock tune) or about 550 to 650 mbar above ambient pressure, meaning around 1550 to 1650 mbar at sea level, if you see any more in the specified boost could indicate the ECM has a tune.

Hope this helps,

drpeter
