I tried that before but get Coding Rejected, Error 31 out of range.
Yes I do get the options in the assist menu but when I try and select blind spot or rear traffic alert it says "Rear Traffic Alert/blind spot alert currently not available". Park assist is also not working so I reckon it's all related to the ABS pump.

Can you try so that you do not enable rear cross traffic alert? Does it light up the bsm indicators when you enable the blind spot monitoring?

Coding rejected error sounds like abs control unit not supporting rcta.

PLA3.0 coding changed a little bit and I disabled ARA. That is if you have a trailer hitch what you don't have.

I'm still quite sure that BSM system itself does not require ABS support, RCTA is what needs ABS support.

Did you modify the abs coding to what I proposed?

The instruments is strange, true. Our Leon is 2013 model year and I had to upgrade the instrument cluster to newer one as original one did not support ACC graphics and it had a lot of things missing from the coding as well.
Your car is 2015 right? That should already have the necessary graphics etc. But it could be that it does not have the necessary options for the PLA3.0 or the BSM system.

But anyway, to get RCTA working you need to swap ABS pump. So that is where I would start. You coding is same size as what the 3Q0 AB has so good chance that it will go straight in.

Morning Downtime. Yes I updated the ABS code, thank you for providing it. The car is 2014 but I suspected the same as you that it either may be the cluster itself or this may be cured with a software upgrade (unlikely).

I will try and get my hands on that pump today/tomorrow and hope it works.

This is something I do not remember

There are basic settings for most of these in the abs pump control module 03 and I think I just ran those and the basic settings were ok.

Steering angle basic setting I think was done from steering assist module.

Most of the errors in all the modules will magically disappear when you get the basic settings done

All done and the Christmas tree is no more. I'm getting another error in 03 ABS:
anhaenger alt 01 veraltet bit set? Any ideas?

The pump works for bsm and rcta, but I've discovered I need to check the wiring for BSM to the mirrors. Secondly it seems I need to change the speedo as that still doesn't support the bit Park Assist unless I can update it??

I think I had the same error. Again, I can’t remember what was the change that got rid of it. I think it was either a coding or adaptation mistake in abs but not 100% sure.

Edit : Haa found it. It’s trailer bit. Check the abs adaptation channels. There’s one related to trailer assist. Disable that and that error will be gone.

Speedo is not upgradeable I’m afraid

so it’s speedo upgrade. And remember that if you buy over 100km driven speedo, you cannot change it anymore.
New colour display speedo is around 700€.

I'd like to put in a virtual one but I'be had a few bad experiences with buying used parts from eBay. When they go to get cp remove the vin is blocked, probably stolen part. I've got my money back but lost out for the charge to remove CP. I might just swap one to a standard colour one from a GTD or Golf R.

I'll try removing that adaptation tonight when I'm home and see. The new V2 cable is lightening fast in comparison to the old one and the lights are funky

I’ve never had any problems buying used parts. Everything has always been ok.

Virtual cockpit is a bit challenging. It basically needs MIB unit with optical interface. Also I think your bcm and gateway are not new enough for it.

It needs a MIB2, I have a spare gateway and I could always update the software on the BCM, but I'm not going to bother.. I think a 2016 17 Instruments should do it.

I think you cannot upgrade your current BCM to new enough software to cope with digital display. But yes, I would not bother either and I won't.

If you can live with wrong mileage on the cluster, then 2016 cluster should be fine. Unless you're able to find a cluster with less than 100km on the clock.

By the way, did you find the trailer adaptation on the ABS module?

Yes the bit in adaptation was for trailer and something else lock. I deactivated it and the error disappeared. I know someone who who claims he can alter a speedo to correct the mileage, but I'm no fussed if it has the wrong mileage for now. I've had a bigger pain trying to find the correct bracket for the headlamp level sensor. I bought an E and now a G but neither fit. I think it might be an F but I'm not sure if I want to risk buying another and having a stock!

Post 2014 clusters are impossible to change the mileage. If someone claims they can do it, they're lying. 2014 June onwards cluster are using Johnson control encryption and to date no one has been able to crack it.

And according to ETKA, the level sensor depends on your rear axle type. If it's fixed then 5Q0 512 521 E, if it's multilink then 5Q0 512 521 F and if it's 4motion then 5Q0 512 521 G.

I have retrofit blind spot a lot of times. I have never changed the ABS. You can make software update for this. If you make update ABS will support. only 1 little thing don't work, but I don't know what anymore.

Cluster after 2014 can be changed. Seen with my own eyes. As long its VDD. If it's JC, then it will not. Have seen a lot cluster after 2014 who have VDD manufacturer.

Hmm... to my understanding JC is the microcontroller inside the cluster. There's NEC, CDC, JC and Motorola chips.

EDIT :

Ok, looks like VDO in fact is adjustable. JCI is not. The JC chips are only in JCI clusters. NEC35xx is the chip in newer clusters. Just needs a new enough odb tool that can correct the mileage.

Virtual cockpits among with JCI clusters are the ones that have not been hacked yet.

Damn, I was looking for this information 1,5 years ago and that time there was no way to hack 2014+ clusters.....So I ended up buying a new cluster

Yes. I know tools which can do, but I don't work with that myself. Hehe 1,5 years ago indeed no programm could. Now they have and also key learning for MQB is possible so that is also new.
