D'oh! Almost sounded like a legitimate gun enthusiast there in my last post, then I screwed it up.

    Good info, thanks.

My intent is to buy a tool to do a job, no different than I do for my cars.

That's not to say it won't spin wildly out of control into a major hobby. After all, HEX-NET was just a tool.

Takedown and Breakdown are interchangeable so you're cool. Honestly if I bought another one it would probably be one of these:

    $200 shipped ain't a bad starting point.

For hunting, I don't like the stainless... too easy to catch the sun on the barrel and spook the prey. The blue steel is much better for this reason. I like the 10/22 that Andy showed.. In fact, I never bought my Christmas present from last year.

Heck, for a only a few dollars more, you could get stainless (so you'd have far fewer worries about rust) and get it Cerakoted in the camo pattern of your choice.

See, this is why I was avoiding the whole gun thing for so long. It gets so complicated. I come in with a simple question, like, "what is the part number of a good short-range raccoon ventilator?" and it starts simple. Then it goes off the rails, like shoe/purse shopping with my wife.

Then stay away from AR-15s. They're like Legos for adults.

Just don't do this, and you'll be fine....
