Hi All,

I've just purchased VCDS, and I am wondering if anyone can offer me any assistance please on what functions of VCDS I should be using to troubleshoot, and also maybe with any knowledge as to what the issue is with my car.

I've got a MY2009 Audi A3 with a CBBB engine (170PS common rail). Car has 132k miles on it. I've had a couple of injectors replaced (cylinder 1 replaced a month ago, cylinder 2 replaced 18 months ago) on there as they've failed in the past. The inlet manifold has also been replaced by Audi as the flap motor failed on there.

The problem I have now is with the idle when the engine is cold. When first starting the car from cold, the car will intermittently misfire gently - just enough to hear and so I can feel a gentle shudder. Once the car is warmed up very slightly (the temp needle hardly has to move), the car will idle smoothly.

I've not disassembled the EGR valve to check cleanliness, but I've run some EGR cleaner via the airbox into there. That maybe improved things slightly, but I can't be sure. The EGR ralso eports a duty cycle of 100% until the engine is warm - then it goes down.

I've had a cursory look in VCDS and I have IQ deviations looking like:

Cyl 1: -2.0
Cyl 2: +0.19
Cyl 3: +1.41
Cyl 4: +0.35

I'm not sure if the above readings are particularly weird?

Assuming you got these from MVB 013, they are within spec. +/- 2.8 mg/stroke is permissible.
