New to vcds and forum

Hi all. new to this specific vcds diagnostics system. got a 06' jetta tdi. it has almost at 227000 miles on it. 3 weeks ago i started having ac issues with it not working at all. fans didn't kick on at all. did alot of checking and it seemed the solenoid valve in the compressor was the main issues in these systems. i installed a new one in mine with no results. BTW, before i got the car 2 years ago, someone had an aftermarket ac compressor put in. believe the brand is GPD which is a company out of macon georgia. so now i got this new toy from ross-tech to figure out the issues i hope. everyone on facebook an such kept blowing me crap cause i didn't have the vcds or a way to scan my mk5 jetta. tomorrow i hope is when i get to put the system to work.......

not yet Uwe. just woke up. sleeping pattern is messed up and o got to deal with my vw dealer and there half assed bodyshop work. lil later today and will be posting my complete scan so i have something for everyone to see whats going on. thanks for the welcome.....Toby

i did that with the ac set and nothing came back. ac doesn't work. ran the module tests. fans work too but not when useing the ac.

says fan is on at 10% but isn't running. i ran the live data again after engine was off a while and now the pressure is reading 5.8-6.0 bar. i'm a lil lost. i changed the compressor solenoid with no luck as most all said that was the issue.

AC not working, but no fault codes in the HVAC control module is pretty common in Mk.5 vintage cars. I've seen it myself in a 2008 Audi A3 (which is really just an Mk.5 GTI in wearing fancy clothes). I'm rather skeptical about your aftermarket compressor. I'm guessing the refrigerant pressure doesn't change much, no matter whether the compressor is commanded on or not, right?

right, no change in pressure. i did get the rpm's up to a lil over 2k and the pressure was bouncing around 6bar. just ordered a compressor. i don't why they say it includes clutch since they don't use one.

I suspect that's their way of telling you that you don't need to order one separately?

You do not. You have a German car. It reports all temperatures in °C. All repair documentation shows temperatures in °C. We don't want to create confusion or play guessing games with temperatures.
