Audi A4 B8 2011 - CAGA - 2.0TDi - Engine hegging at idle (idling poorly) - 5175 Fuel Pressure Regulation P1065 00

Hi,

I have the following problem with an Audi A4 B8 2011 - CAGA - 2.0TDi:

- Engine hegging - revs are bouncing up and down
- Car still has full power - issue is at idle

The following has been tried:
- Leak off test carried out on 4 injectors
- Adaptation - reset Meter Valve & PRV values carried out - problem goes away until about 1hr of driving & returns again
- Meter valve removed & inspected underneath for metal filings - none
- LP Tank fuel pump removed - no metal filings in tank
- PRV changed for a known good unit
- Metering Valve changed for a known good unit

Hi I have similar issue on 2014 Tiguan 2.0 CR Tdi
Have changed fuel press sender
Checked battery voltage and charged to be sure
Logged commanded fuel pressure vs actual fuel pressure
Checked wiring to connector and compared voltage & resistance with another similar Tiguan
Checked filter for debris
Checked HP pump screen for debris
Reprimed fuel system several times
Tried turning off Start Stop at switch
All the above checks out ok

If I look correctly in the picture, the fuel filter is full of metal shavings. If this is also your manifestation on the T5/T6, then it is probably a consequence of previously filling the tank with gasoline. Replacing the high pressure pump after cleaning the fuel system will probably be the minimum you have to do.
