Issues running Optical Bus Diagnostic.

Just wondering if anyone has had an issue running the optical bus diagnostic, when I try to run it it connects and the box saying running comes up but when it goes to show me the results I get an error come up saying there was an error or this vehicle is unsuitable.

Using it on a Audi A1 2011 1.4 TFSI.

Background about the car.
I am currently having issues with the MMI where it doesn’t turn on. I was hoping to find the issue using vcds. When running auto scan, none of the media items are reachable and the can bus shows an optical open circuit.
Could this be the reason I can’t run the Optical Bus Diagnostic?

With absolutely no offense intended, don't discount the possibility that "other eyes" may see different information in your auto-scan report (plus- we get to see the valuable contextual environment of the rest of the CAN network for the misbehaving MMI) !!

@hayes486: My own personal guess (emphasize "guess") is that there might be more than one problem with the car - BUT, as @Eric has identified-the preeminent matter requiring attention is the car's rail volts (which looks mighty sick!).

To use the auto-scan report properly and before any diagnostic conclusions can be reached about whatever other problems might (or might-not) be at play - the battery voltage needs to be fixed.

To this end, my response to Eric's observations was an attempt to ask; why is the battery voltage so low? The inability of the CAN Gateway module to communicate with the generator might be implicated in answering this question

So, to confirm cause-and-effect (I'm not familiar with the 8X0 chassis), maybe charge the battery fully. Then, assuming the battery holds-charge - clear the errors- does the Generator error message persist?
