Haven't seen a lot of movement on this thread but hopefully it's not dead. I'm not sure why there are so many steps to do the calibration data as I just enter a password and do it. No need to change sessions or anything like that. But perhaps it's to keep the community at large safe from making random changes or the older modules require multiple steps..

Anyrate, great work on the research and hopefully there is more information coming on xpl document. I just wanted to add a few things I found recently on a 2020 Q8 I was working on. Some already known others not sure.

Hope fully someone knows what some of these are as the acronyms have always been a bit cryptic.

Byte 16 bit 7 is for SCU - 0x085 SCU (not sure what this is)
Byte 16 bit 6 is for HAL - 0x136 HAL (differential controller)
Byte 16 bit 1 is for EBKV - 0x0BD EBKV (Electric brake booster)

Byte 15 bit 5 is for Anhaenger - 0x661 Anhaenge (Trailer)

Byte 14 bit 6 is associated to LS1 (What ever that is) and causes a common DTC timout error
Byte 14 bit 0 and 1 (I think) is for AFR - 0xTBD AFR_01 (not sure what this is)

Byte 13 bit 2 is for SC-CAN - Expanded safety communication bus
Byte 13 bit 6 is for ARA2 - 0x12DD5488 ARA2 (Not sure what it is but noticed door module has setting for ARA version)

Hopefully someone can fill in the blanks on the acronyms I have yet to identify.

Some acronyms are in VCDSToolbox.
If they mean the same:
SCU = Sensor and Control Unit
HAL = HinterAchs Lenkung (Rear axle steering)
LS could be Light Sensor/Light System
