I'm in the process of buying a used Tiguan in Brazil,

One possible vehicle just had a refurbished EPS rack fitted by a mechanic to fix a weird noise.

I read in a post by siLc that after an EPS replacement the steering assist curve parameters of the new rack should be flashed with VCP or ODIS.

I'm assuming the Brazilian mechanic won't do that, and for 99.9% of drivers it won't make a difference, since 2012 Tiguan doesn't have Lane Assist or even Park Steer Asssist.

However, I want to use it with OpenPilot, which is some kind of advanced Lane Assist hack.

So my question for you: How much of a difference do those curve parameters make? The rack could basically come from a Golf, Passat or Tiguan - right?
Can VCP flash them without access to the old EPS rack?
VCDS doesn't to that, I assume.

Thanks!
