Footwell Light Retrofit on 2016 Audi Q3

Help ! I have retrofitted a set of footwell lights on this 2016 Audi Q3 and enabled the coding on the BCM for footwell light and 58d Ambience Light.

The door open footwell lights works good and lights up when the doors are opened. The ambience light control have been set at 50 or 100 units under the adaption for the BCM (58d) Ambience but they do not light up.

Could somebody point out how I could get the ambience lights to appear on the 5F Information Electric ?

Thanks lala30 for your advice and inputs.

I followed the instructions to the dot, save and reset the 5F Information Center HU.

Then went to the Green Menu but cannot find the "Light" option.

Wonder if my HU is the basic of basic set and do not support this function.

The 5F accepted the adaption channel 05 as value 01 already.

Am I missing something ??

OK I see you have RMC no MMI

for this to enabled you need cabel from diffrent company ,VCDS Unfortunately not have options for this !

Hi OP just wondering if you were able to sort out Footwell lights to illuminate while driving? I have installed the footwell lights and enabled the BCM coding for footwell lights and 58d ambience lights but they DONT light up when driving with headlights on. They will illuminate when you open the doors.

I have the same issue as the OP where there is no option to enable Interior lights from 5f infotainment. I have the basic RMC unit.

Anyway of activating or even enable the footwell lights to be active while driving with headlights on?

Could you post your coding of RMC unit and maybe even an adapation map?

Also i noticed when accessing 5F long coding I cannot see the labels for the options so its basically a blind guess which one is what

Yeah, unfortunately there is no label file for RMC.
It could help to have an adapation map of 5F (CSV). Could you create one with VCDS?
This could take some time as its not an UDS unit and VCDS will ask every 256 channels...

Unfortunately the car belongs to my Father and he lives in a different town. I wont be visiting him any time soon so getting adap map wont be possible unfortunately

Could you create an adaptation map of Unit 5F? This will take some time as VCDS goes through all 256 channels...

There is no possibility to affect the menu option through the RMC green menue, that's for sure.

In addition, please set channel 27 to 200 and channel 35 to 0 in your BCM.

No sorry. I mean: Set channel 27 to value 200. And set channel 35 to value 0

These are values I read directly from an Q3 with working ambient lights.

And now I know also that the menu options in RMC can only be activated via parameters, which is not possible with VCDS....
