2014 Q5 Trailer Hitch | Trailer Turn Signal Faults

Greetings,
I finally installed the hitch and used a Q7 wiring harness on my 2014 Q5 TDI since we cannot get the Q5 US harness any longer (note the Q7 and Q5 harness share the same connectors). However I am running into a problem. The car is showing trailer turn signal faults for both left and right (no trailer is connected). I used VCDS to code the ECU following the below configs (source: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...hitch-2941267/) I had to change a few as my car is post facelift.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Man I can’t thank you enough! I have been racking my brain since yesterday. This cleared the fault. I will test drive it tomorrow to double check. Then find a trailer for the real test.

Exact same issue is happening with my retrofit. Trailer turn signal faults. 2014 Q5 TDI

Installed:
Control Module: 8K0907383E
Harness: 4L0971124F

I performed all the necessary code changes without incident and sure enough, trailer turn signal L & R faults.
Sadly removing trailer module, wait, plug in module, Ignition < brake isn't fixing anything for me.

Upon performing a post retrofit auto scan I'm presented with a whole slew of faults that appear to be trailer module related.

Perhaps someone can make heads or tails of what's going on here.

Left and Right trailer turn signal faults

I am having the same issue with the left and right trailer turn signal faults. I have tried unplugging the controller, waiting and then plugging back in as recommended here, but still not getting them to go away. Maybe I am missing a step or not waiting correctly for the CAN bus to sleep? I did connect up a trailer (4 wire) and all the lights work on the trailer. The indicators are even displayed in the dash for the trailer lights. Any ideas on what else to try? I have a larger trailer with brakes (7 wire) that I will ultimately test, but also need to get a brake controller installed.
Last question I have. The single red wire with a white strip on the trailer harness. What is that for? I have looked throughly at all the wiring harnesses in the rear right for a matching connector and my Q5 does not have one. I connected the main car harness to the controller, the trailer harness to the controller and the 2 wire connector to it's plug for the brake controller, and ground. Cannot figure out this other connector. Maybe not needed?
Also, no issues programming everything with VCDS.

Hoping to get some clarification on what state the ignition should be in when the connector is removed from the trailer module. I’m obviously not doing something right as the process is not working for me.
Second, how is sleep state in CAN-bus determined and how long would it typically take to go into sleep state.
Third, how to interpret the ‘>’ symbol - is it a sequential operation with ignition first then brake or is it ignition on after brake pedal pressed or are both done simultaneously.

I've tried this and no bueno(which connector? trailer harness and/or module power/data plug?). Same scenario, no trailer plugged in. All lights and brake controller works when trailer plugged in. Clean autoscan with the exception of Trailer Module:

Why not just try it.
But no I don't think so, do you have the turn light as shown in #1 ?
Wiring, socket, fuse problem.

Same message, of course different cluster. As previously stated, all lights and brake controller works fine…all fuses are good. Only lead that is dead is the trailer battery charging wire (black).

I’m assuming it’s either a bad module or a coding issue. At least it’s not a CEL…oh crap, did I just say that out loud
