Hello,

I've recently purchased this fantastic car as second-hand and few weeks after ordered an HEX-V2 interface from Ross-tech France where I'm living, as I'm a big car enthousiast guy, fan of mechanics from a long time in particular.

Even after some searches around the web on Audi oriented forums or here, I can't find the root cause of the following error :

00821 - Antenna 2 for Radio (R93)
007 - Short to Ground

Everythings seems to works fine even If I'm afraid it could occurs some battery drain or disturb the way my MMI 3G High is working. Here is the logs :

Hello,

If your radio is working okay and there is no real loss of FM reception, you could just leave it be.

But if you wanted to, you can check the connections to the 'R93-Radio Antenna 2' (R111-Areial Amplifier 2).

Since this Radio uses phase diversity, there are four Antenna Amplifiers, the one you want to check, the R111, is located at the bottom, left of the tailgate. See the Official Factory Repair Information for complete details.

Hope this helps,

Peter

Many thanks for your support, based on my local dealer R111 is installed on each side of the tailgate. When I open the boot from the back of the car, based on your answer, I imagine I have to replace the one on the left side of the tailgate that's it?

Hi, so when you search for the "R93" in the parts catalog, the one on the
side is displayed, order by VIN, because there are 6-7 different ones (based one equipment, etc)!

So yes, I would have to say that I am reasonably sure the one on the left that has the issue.

There is a quick simple test to be sure and that is to unplug the one on the right to see if you get a different fault code.

Have a great weekend,

Peter

Hello I've taken advantage of lock down to work on this issue. First of all, my car is only equipped of 2 aerial amps 8T8035225C and 8T8035225 located on the left side of the tailgate. On the right side, there is no amp, neither mounting marks that could make me think that the others amps were removed by the previous owner. So, my conclusion is that my car was factory built with only 2 amps. Then I've ordered both of these on ebay at great price (20€).

Following replacement, radio signal range of the remote locking is much more better (around 15m) whereas I couldn't make it works farther than 2-3meters before. Based on official repair documentation, it looks that these amps could be involved in the remote locking system. That's a very good point

Unfortunately, I can't make error code to disappear. After clear, it reappears few seconds later. So I'm in a deadlock. Thanks in advance for any support.
