Even though this thread is in the dungeon, I found it most fun to read!
It is foolish to not use the VCDS scan tool to first auto-scan + check values & before even so much as pulling a wheel & on any new cars today to save the values especially in air rides too that people negate before lifting & saving all settings & then observe mechanical's first with measurements of suspension relaxed & to verify that calipers are in order and clean + properly lubricated & before even doing any disassembly dammit..... a car should be on the "battery charger", than start the scan tool retractions or EPB manual switches and use of special mechanical retraction tool & to not tax the stepper motors in "ANY" EPB system!
The scanner is not a substitute for common sense & which should always be used with RTFB or safe, clean working procedures or the inverse!
