Auto Scan is producing only 1 fault:

0008852 - Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276)
P2294 - 004 - Open Circuit - Intermittent - MIL ON

I have a measured resistance of 34 K ohms across the connector leads so I would assume my wiring is okay and the valve is bad. My only concern is - and please forgive my ignorance - that the sound (circulating?) that I normally hear for a few seconds after turning off the engine, from the area around the turbo charger, is no longer present. The wiring diagram shows the recirculator valve, the wastegate valve and the fuel pressure regulator valve all have a common connection at the ECM. Would it be normal for a defective Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve to result in the absence of the sound I previously mentioned, or do I have a bigger problem?

Start with ohm out everything in that circuit and compare to RTFB using WD and test with load light since sporadic.

Roughly a 2K milles ago I replaced the coolant flange, cam chain cover gasket and vacuum pump seals.

I was incorrect before. The wire that is common to the other components I mentioned is a engine compartment power supply. This wire checks good with the ohm meter and under the load of 12.8W bulb (what I had on hand), I checked this from the fuse terminal. Fuse is good.

The other wire from the N276 does go to ECM. This wire checked out with both test as well. I did find that there was oil in the turbocharger recirculator valve connector, so I will need to replace the valve. Seems that I would have received a fault from it.

Is it unlikely that a faulty Fuel Pressure regulator valve would produce an "intermittent" open?

Could be faulty harness with tug needed, overlay wire back to ecu too check otherwise ecu is bad or coil winding in n276 during resonance glitch, either from faulty mechanical tolerances from improper lubrication or FOD from fuel system contaminated with improper additive or water.

Did some tugging repositioning and reseating before initial post. Replaced HPFP/FP regulator and have been driving for over a week. So far so good, Appears to be fixed.
