Now, the voltage ones in the first scan I am not too worried about (as there was a known bad battery, that has been replaced) - but I don't know how to deal with the codes that have remained.

In addition, the 1.6 engine seemed to idle slightly lumpy from a cold start, and also continued to rev when the pedal was released, and also with the throttle response there was quite a lag from pressing, before anything happaned, but no codes.

The garage said they would resolve this, however I would like to know what is going on so I can guide them (if needed) and also know what the likely outcomes are to be

Thank you for any thoughts

Mark

Test drive the car, rack up a few miles, then go check your fuel trim values:

Fuel trim issues in most cases are not too difficult to resolve... cracked vacuum pipe or bad CCV. But with some engines, it could be a failed rear main seal. No way know specifics of this car just yet.

No Faults Found
or DTCs not supported by controller
or a communication error occurred

All the control modules, when asked about fault codes, did directly respond there are no fault codes. However, the ABS module, when asked, just stood there with a blank expression on its stupid face, drool running down his chin. So from VCDS's point of view, the ABS didn't say there were fault codes, but it really didn't say there were no fault codes. This is the very simplified version of what happened.

So when you get that "No Faults Found or DTCs not supported by controller or a communication error occurred" message, go back and check again.

Great reply - thank you Jef
The car is being looked at by the garage tomorrow - hopefully we will know more then.

Will the fuel trim values have an effect on lumpy idle and also throttle delay/response?

It can... if there is a massive vacuum lean, running super lean, it will make an engine run like crap. See what the numbers show, and then (carefully) hose the engine bay down with brake cleaner as shown in the video.
