I'd like to know if it is possible to tweak my car through VCDS to add the following.

1. Start-stop
2. Indirect TPMS
3. Change my DRLs to fog lights
4. Re-fill volume in the DIS (amount of liters of fuel consumed). I've seen instructions for a Skoda Octavia (MQB) which I followed, but it did not work.
5. Would it be possible to enable the alarm to close the windows if someone puts their hand inside the cabin?
6. Enable Drive-select like settings for the steering effort in MMI. Maybe even enable different throttle mapping?
7. Even with the "late" setting my headlamps turn on too early for my taste when in auto mode, can the light sensor sensitivity be altered?

I hope it is not too much to ask. :)

Here's my autoscan:

2 & 3 are definitely do-able. Tried it on 2 different 8Vs and worked fine.

Can't tell you exact coding as they were hire cars but they definitely work. Think I got the instructions from an Audi forum somewhere.

Gauge test also works, the chirp on locking confirmation doesn't (well i couldn't get it working anyway).

M_bolc: you probably already know this, but Mr. Stemei has a plethora of tweaks for your car.

Hmm... What this correct collective noun for many tweaks - is it a pride of tweaks, or a murder of tweaks, or perhaps a gaggle of tweaks.. .?

Look here

Hi!
I already completed a bunch of tweaks on my car, but I'm just greedy for more!
The fog lights as DRLs were already tried, but I couldn't get them to work. I followed a thread on Briskoda.net, but that was for Octavia's. I found various channels in the car to activate the TPMS, but need the coding for the ABS module it seems.

I looked over Mr Steimei's excellent site and carried out all the mods I wanted that were listed there.

Things completed so far:
1. Enabled DRL menu in MMI
2. Needle test
3. Enabled oil temperature in DIS
4. Removed ignition is on message
5. Enabled fig lights as cornering lights (up to 120kmh)
6. Removed the thing where the rear wiper activates when reverse is engaged.
7. Auto drop down on the passenger side mirror when reverse is engaged.
8. Turned off brake disc sweeping during rain.
9. Turned down the aggressiveness of the hill hold.
10. Enabled chirp for locking, with MMI menu.
11. Enable closing of windows through rain sensor (couldn't get the MMI menu to work).

If any of you are interested in any of these tweaks, let me know so I can dig up the instructions.

Could you provide instructions for number 10? Followed a guide on an Audi forum and couldn't get it working.

.

m_bloc: I have a rather large (albeit a somewhat inadequate) database of VCDS tweaks for the Mk7 Golf which as you probably know is also based on the MQB platform. Amongst my eclectic mix of instructions (which I have sourced from various sites) I have a note saying that the security code for the ABS module is 40168. Not sure where I got this information (probably from the indefatigable VCDS gurus here who never cease to be helpful), but it's worth a try on your MQB car!

I've got the same thing amongst my notes, but the coding helper has limited labels on it.
I saw another thread in these forums where somebody else successfully enabled TPMS on their 8V. I used that coding but it was rejected by the module.

m_bloc: OK, is the tweak a change to the ABS coding value, or is it a change to a setting in an adaptation channel? If the latter, have you tried doing an admap on the ABS module to see what adaptation channels are available in your controller? See HERE .

I'm not familiar with the tweak on your car but here are the two Adaptation channels in the ABS module on my car that mention TPMS:

Ah yes, I see those as well. Both of those channels are set to "2" in my car. No idea what the value should be to activate TPMS.

The security code doesn't seem to work either, I can't change any of the adaptation values with that one.

I guess I'll have to wait till the RT employees are back at their desk and hope for magic :)

m_bloc: Yes, the RT employees are always a very knowledgeable and extremely helpful bunch in my experience.

Just one more piece of information, found this in 17-Instrument module, byte 4 (see bit 0) - do you have this on your car and is it set?
